If Vancouver wants Sandin, tbey would need to add something much more. I’d bet he’s untradeable unless they get a dman back with the same potential, and at that point it just becomes a wash and pointless trade

I think elite is a bit of a stretch. Definitely a top 3 dman for sure imo

Sandin is a good prospect. But last time I looked, Toronto still needed help at RHD and grit to make it past the first round. Try to get those with your cap space. Btw, Stecher is more than a bottom pair dman.

Sandin can play on the right side. Why are we trading our top prospect for 2 med level players. We also have lily in the minors and we have assest to trades that can gte us better players. Deal is a no go.

The Leafs have absouletely no interest in trading Sandin who projects to be a No. 1 or 2 defenceman on the the team in the future. The only way to get a No. 1 paring defenceman in the NHL is to draft and develope him and Leafs would be crazy to give him away. Stecher is at best a 6-7 paring defenceman in the NHL. Kapan and Virtanan are a wash.

You don't trade a prospect with legitimate top pairing upside for "grit" or a guy who is at best a #4 RHD. I'd rather lose in the playoffs and lose Barrie and Muzzin for nothing than trade away Sandin in this absolute abysmal trade.

All defenseman "can" play the right side, but realisticially he just doesn't. The Marlies have always been stocked with solid RHD guys.

Toronto also needs ELC to plug into the lineup the next few years and he is the best of them all. He's not going anywhere just like every other teams best prospect. Hell even Arizona wouldn't move their best guy for hall
