I don't like the extra term, on Ferland vs Galch, but it's by no means a bad contract, I'd accept in a heartbeat

yay more middle six forwards.
The deal is slightly in our favor but it's far from what we need. I still would do it as a canucks fan

Baertschi is a great two way player. Check out his giveaway/ takeaway ratio from previous years, he's a league leader. And he can produce a decent amount. Him not being called up is not cause he was bad, maybe it's to try and make eriksson look good or ferland. Kind of like how desmith was sent down for pittsburgh but not cause he was bad but cap issues.

no one claimed him in two different waiver periods for free no one wants him for free why give up anything for him. its pretty simple. Desmith was sent down instead of Jarry because of contract and JR and the Pens Brass figured he would have a bettere chance of not being claimed.

plus/minus is not a great stat true but most players that are great two way players are not -33 over there career either.

he has about a .45 points per game average and cant stay healthy. he has no value at all.

he hasn't ever really been able to put it together in Vancouver and I agree that if he was good or worth something he would have been claimed on waivers. But he is hurt and inconsistent. If the Pens claimed him for free off waivers i'd been ok with it but to trade for him in a package where there is also nothing much else of value doesn't make sense

The thing is him and ferland have concussion issues. Ferland would be on LTIR still most likely after acquiring him. It gives us cap space i guess then.
