Yeah, he wouldn't want the opportunity to hoist or anything...

And, everyone on here is trading for your #1 centre Pageau but we can't try for your 3rd pairing defenseman? Please...

I think DeMelo is a good player, but defense won't be an area of need for WSH this offseason. We probably won't see WSH do much with all the youngsters coming up to compete for that 6th spot. They'd probably be better off using that cap space to fill areas in the middle 6 or to prepare for the 21-22 offseason that will see a lot of movement.

Ok, who can play on is offside, because WSH have good LHD, but RHD ...

Hes an RFA. It doesnt matter what WSH offers. OTT will be able to match. If you want to offer sheet DeMelo and throw us a 2nd round pick, feel free.

Siegenthaler mostly played his offside in 18-19 with Orpik until the Caps acquired Jensen. Believe Djoos did the same. Not sure about the AHL kids, @Eli might know.

About my other point with Pageau, I see a lot of offers on here for him. Dude is killing it this year. Is he available? I find that hard to believe if so...

I think if a first comes up, Ottawa will take it. Hes loved by the admin, so I expect hes only available if we get a real nice package for him.

A 1st round pick for a rental that's putting up nearly twice as many PPG as his career would be something OTT should take in a heartbeat.

Yep. Yep. Djoos, Siegenthaler, and Orlov have played each side in the NHL. I think Johansen plays some right side in Hershey, when healthy, but if you move those first three over, you don't even need Carlson or Jensen, and you still have Kempny, Alexeyev, and Fehervary on the left, before you need to make a move.
