Kyle Dubas and Brandon Pridham looking at Seabrooks LTIR (he would play like 3 more games in his career, lets be honest, then his contract is traded) like me looking at my sandwich at 1am.

This news sucks. It'll make the TDL interesting. $11.5M of replacement cap space available for half a year.

I wouldn’t be making any bandaid trades wasting draft picks because the cap allows me to do so. At this point, check the waiver wire and bring up the kids as stop gap measures.

I was thinking the opposite. Take on a cap dump or 2 because the Hawks have the space. Get whatever picks Stan can. Ken Holland might be looking to make a move or two, but he doesn't have the cap space. Maybe Gagner, Manning, or Smith come to the hawks as long as EDM sends a few picks our way.

And is the 7th Dman in the KHL. The Kid might be good, but no one will ever know because he plays 12 minutes a game...

I'm betting that Seabrook ends up on the island with Robidas, Pronger, and Hossa.

Agree, think this is the end of the line for Seabs and he joins the front office of the Hawks which he has said he would like to do when he retires.

I also think this could be the end of the line for Shaw as he has said even last year, concussions are a big concern for him and there is life after hockey "I want to raise kids one day and not be disabled' something to that effect.

My brain says you're right, but I just can't see it happening yet.

Having shoulder AND hip surgery? Going to be pretty hard for him to come back from that and recondition at the age of 35 (April 2020) and be ready for next year. Highly doubt he'll be ready in October to come back. Shaw I'm betting is going to hang it up this summer. He's been very vocal about concussions and long term effects. He's also, from what I understand, doesn't live a lavish lifestyle and is more of a simpleton which if that is the case, he's put away millions into investments instead of spending on cars and what not.

I would make the trade at the TDL when players are supposed to be sought at a premium, but I wouldn’t pass on a deal now, if it made the team better. I would burn a draft pick for the guys you mentioned.
