Anaheim accepts

I knew YOU guys would like it. Now the question is whether the Panthers guys like it.

They get Larsson. Develop a young defenseman. Anaheim says yes because they get a RHD, dump shore’s contract, and get picks to replenish the Larsson pick. Panthers add a F to maybe be a reclaiming project with better Forwards in Florida and developing a young former first rounder like Larsson and move on from a defender they don’t necessarily need on the right side.

That's my thinking, plus as to Pysyk, the Panthers get two RFA's under team control into or past the expansion draft, whereas they might lose Pysyk in free agency even if they wanted to keep him.

Here’s my thing with the Larson situation, he was a first round pick and the first legit shot at consistent NHL time he’s had to play with Holzer for most of it on a team I say is underperforming. The ducks should be scoring more and with them not you get a Larsson situation who’s in a poor situation losing any confidence. Probably should trade him before his value drops too much but he didn’t get a fair shake this year and it’s hurt him and the team.

You're absolutely right. On the Panthers he has a better chance to succeed, and sooner, too.

P.S. The only time he hasn't played with Holzer, he's played on his off side half the time with Fowler (and half the time on his natural side with Fowler).

As a FLA fan, I'm fine with getting rid of Pysyk, but a 2nd and a 4th seem a little steep. I'd do a 3rd and Pysyk, take the 2nd and 4th out of the equation. Plus we need D depth. Without Ekblad, the defense looks like an ECHL team.

What's the value of UFA (i.e., half a season of) Pysyk? Larsson is a former first-round pick who is confirming that he's NHL material. Shore's value alone should be a fifth, if not a fourth (compare DesLauriers).
