TDL and draft day

Created by: Linlan
Team: 2019-20 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 27, 2019
Published: Dec. 27, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
NYR
  1. Backes, David
  2. Beecher, John [Reserve List]
  3. 2020 1st round pick (BOS)
  4. 2020 3rd round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
3rd becomes a 2nd if Boston gets to the finals and Kreider plays 50% or more playoff games
Getting rid of Backes helps Boston resign Debrusk and krug while keeping depth
BOS
  1. Kreider, Chris
Additional Details:
Backes contract ends at the same time as Lundqvist, Staal and Smith. We’re not a playoff/good playoff team until those contracts are over so take Backes to maximize return
2.
NYR
  1. 2020 1st round pick (VGK)
  2. 2021 1st round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
Think something like the Brayden Schenn deal
VGK
  1. Deangelo, Anthony
Additional Details:
Potential draft day deal depending on where that 2020 1st ends up being
But I think Vegas could pay a boatload to get a RHD that helps them now and in the future
3.
NYR
  1. Puljujärvi, Jesse [Reserve List]
  2. 2021 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
2nd becomes 1st if EDM makes playoff and Georgiev have 30 starts or more

Gotta sub Beecher for someone like Lauko or Steen. It's to much for the Bruins to be comfortable doing.

If it’s Lauko or Steen then it’s more or less a conditioning 2nd to take on Backes :/

Rangers would keep Georgiev rather than trade him for so little.

Little?
Holland would’t do Puljujarvi for Andersson straight up so adding Georgiev while also getting what should be a mid 1st is little to you?

Keep Puljujarvi, he can't play until next season anyway. Obviously other teams don't value Puljujarvi as highly as EDM, that's why he wasn't traded before the December 1st deadline. Cracks me up how much EDM fans over values their players. Rangers will just trade Anderson to some other team that can put him in their lineup right away. It's going to take a lot more than a 2nd round pick and some premadona prospect who's not able to play the rest of the season for Georgiev. Let alone include Andersson. Especially when EDM is dropping in the standings like a stone. EDM is most certainly not trading from a position of strength, they're trading from a position of complete desperation.

Read my friend
I’m aware Puljujarvi can’t play this season which is why I wrote “draft day deal”
And you don’t think Edmonton can’t make the playoffs next year to make the 2nd to a 1st as part of the condition I wrote? I do which could make that first between #15-20 in the draft which is where I think EDM gonna end up with
Think you overvalue Andersson a bit too to say another team will put him straight into the lineup. He still needs to develop his game even if traded to another organization
Also we don’t know all offers Holland got for Puljujarvi and what Holland wanted from teams that inquired. value could’ve been right from some team but it didn’t fit the organization need for example

Pretty sure the 1st is just the cost of taking a player like Backes. Marleau set the market earlier this year for a worthless player making a 6 mil cap hit...

I would like to a Rangers lineup for 2020/21. Having Backes at 6m really hurts the RFA signings for next year.
