I can see the sabres having interest in ryan strome. I cannot see sabres having any interest in ryan strome if the cost is their first round pick. Hard stop.

The condition doesn’t work for the Kreider deal. What happens if Vancouver signs him AFTER the draft? The Rangers have already used the 2020 2nd round pick, so they can’t just give that back to the Canucks.

If you want to keep the condition, you have to include the 2021 2nd round pick. That draft pick can hold the condition that you have laid out in your scenario.
