Zegras is the future

Created by: Icarus
Team: 2020-21 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 27, 2019
Published: Dec. 28, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
He’s absolutely destroying in WJHC. He’s showing incredible hockey IQ. The USA v Canada game likely would have gone different had he played top 6 minutes. I really hope to see him next season with some of the other prospects, even just a look.

*Getz is scratched just too see what lines look like without him.

Isac Lundestrom looked good last night between Comtois and Silfverberg, and I think he would look even better between the two Swedes than Steel.

I definitely think it was one of his best games yet. I still think Steel has a roster spot on lock. So maybe Rakell/Lundestrom/Silf then Ritchie/Steel/Kase.

He had four assists in 4:44 of ice time through two periods, and a decent amount of that ice time has come away from the high end players Team USA has. He's generating offense literally every time he's on the ice. He's a terrific guy on the forecheck, he's one of the most creative players in the offensive zone we've seen in a while, and his raw skill is off the charts. That kid is special.

Yeah yeah he is the next gretzky! Stop jerking yourself about it. The kids haven’t done anything yet. All the players in that tournament have a tons of skill but there only a few who will hahe a real impact in nhl. You might remember max friberg he was your next great one a fee year ago, don’t need to tell you the end of the story

No one is calling him the next Gretzky so calm down. Maybe he could be the next Getzlaf if we’re lucky. But I’m just trying to be excited for the future cause the ducks best strength is their prospects. I’m not dumb enough to think tournament success automatically equals success. Terry was also a beast in WJHC but hasn’t found success yet. While Gibson was dominant in WJHC is arguably the best player on the ducks. But he has been an offensive force so far. He drives play, he’s really creative with the puck, he’s got great hockey IQ, and sees the ice really well. Reminds me a lot of Getzlaf or Toews.

Yes and even in boston he own is ice against men. He sure is a good players. Anaheim have a bunch of really good forward in their system just need to get nhl game under their belt.

Max Friberg was drafted in the 5th round. He was never the “next great one”. But he was apart of the best draft class in history. Every player the ducks selected in that draft played in the NHL.

The best draft class in history ??? the 1979 , 1988, 2003 ( was very good for the duck perry and getzlaf) there no way the 2011 draft is the best so far. 1979 must have 20 hall of famer. Datsyuk was a 6 round selection will probably be better then zegras will ever be. Selection rank have nothing to do with it. Don’t bring that argument because it’s bullshat.

For the team bud. That ducks draft class is the only draft class to have every player selected by that team play in the nhl. Rakell, Gibson, William Karlsson, Cramrossa, Welinski, Friberg, and Manson.

Friberg was drafted in the 5th round. When you’re drafted that late you’re never thought of as the next great one. Yes draft position means something.

Nail Yakupov was selected first overall a few season ago and he never established anything! There the patrick kane, crosby, tavares that team know they have a special players and there the others first round selection where team built hope and develop into nhlers but there absolutely no guarantee with a first round selection over a 5 round pick.

You said people thought Friberg was the “next great one”. Picking out busts or diamonds isn’t proving you’re point.

That prove exactly what i am saying . The draft isnt s scientific thing. The players taken at 5th overall or the one taken in 6 round could both be good or both be a bust. Being drafted higher just raised expectations from fans. A first round selection gave the players some extra time but it doesn’t guarantee anything beside that. Having 7 round in the draft just prove my point. If all first round pick would be star the draft wouldn’t need other round.

The prospect rankings I could find for the ducks in 2012 had it Palmieri, Etem, Vatanen, Rakell and Holland.

You must be fun at parties.

Zegras is an exceptionally talented player who is playing tremendous hockey right now, and has been for the last two years. Players who consistently play this well with this level of production typically project as very good NHL players.

It sounds like you’re just upset he isn’t on “Team caaaannnaaada”
