I'm optimistic on Kravstov but Rakell is a proven top six forward. The only question is if the Rangers feel the timeline doesnt work for them.
I doubt Anaheim would do this, they could get a better package with less risk.

I love rakell and he'd be AMAZING here but I just dont see us trading our prospects of that stature for him tbh. maybe a package around Nils Lundkvist? RHD who projects to be top pairing??

Kravtsov may have a ton of potential but Rakell has a ton of proven quality. He's signed through June 30, 2022 (two more seasons after this one) so who knows what Anaheim will want to pay him then?

Why should Anaheim trade for a RhD who projects to be a top pairing defender when Rakell's value is equal to a real live current top defender?

NYR cant afford Rakell next season. Salary alone makes it easy no. But it's only next season for the cap. I'd swap out Kravtsov for an player with one year on ELC. But that would potentially be a name that would require protection at the Seattle expansion draft. Rakell is a wonderful young talent, if NYR can also send back salary its definitely worth exploring.
