I’m pretty sure I proposed this idea from a Columbus stand point. If Domi is willing to resign and Poehling can play LW on a middle 6 level. Columbus has the in house D to fill in for Werenski. I think Columbus makes this move. I know other Columbus fans will disagree with me, but this fills a big hole in the Columbus team. A solid and steady second line center.

Don't think either team would do this trade.

i'd do it but not for Domi a 23 year old RFA and Poehling

Domi and his 6'4 Winger Armia , Sure
Domi and Fleury or Juulsen , Sure
Domi , Ylonen or Ikonen and a 2nd , sure

But Werenzki although great Offensively leaves a lot to be desired in the NZ and DZ .
His Turnovers are high but he seems to more or less get the puck back just as often with Forced Turnovers
Its the fact that he doesnt use his size like Petry , Weber , or even Chiarot for that matter .
He averages just over 1 SB per game and under 1 hit per game meaning he wont get Minutes here in Claude Juliens system he'll continue to lean on our big 3 blueliners and Mete .

Mete isnt as good on any level offensively as ZW but his defensive game a Point share's are solid
Mete can get the puck in deep so our big slap shots from Chiarot , Weber and Petry can bombard teams
Werenzki likely wont be as reliable in that role as he seems to play a shoot first game recording about as much shots last year as Mete in his career .

not saying Mete's better then Werenzki as that would be dumb , just saying in Claude Juliens system he wont get the start over the defensively sound Mete .
Zach's still young but he's playing on a CBJ team known for great Defense the previous 2 seasons along with Stellar Goaltending yet he's never learned to play in his own End.
Petry had the same issues when we got him from EDM and over a few years we rebuilt him stronger so Zach's not a long shot but its important to remember Claude Juliens Attitude about players who dont play defense regardless of position .

to be honest Wennberg fits our needs more
he's a nice safety for Kotkanemi to help him with Faceoffs .

Wennberg-KK -Armia on 3rd could be stellar
we know AW can be a 50 point player and maybe playing with the twin towers who love battling along the boards will create a lot of chances for Wennberg.

i wouldnt give up a lot for him as to me he's still a 25 year old bottom 6 player today
if he keeps declining in CBJ he'll be a 4th liner by the time he's 27
the hope is he can hang around in MTL's middle six in a 4 line system where 2nd line could play 12 minutes or 17 minutes depending on which lines hot.

CBJ used to be like that but you've lost a Ton of Depth players over the years since his last 50 point season
as long as you dont expect him to be a legit top 6 guy he's an alright player to have around similar to Armia . (if only Wennberg wasnt overpaid a lot more teams would be in on him but his deal is getting towards Alzner bad)

CBJ would take draft picks for Wennberg. Maybe a bad contract to help with the cap

If MTL could get is hand on Werenski... I am OK to give away Domi + Poehling if that's the price for him.
