Recent lines from practice were much different but won't really know until game day what they end up as

Benson gets shafted again. He’s been our best forward for 2 years now and still gets 0 chance.

Yeah I don't get it, Benson has quite a bit better point totals in the AHL then Yamomoto does, Yams are pretty weak actually and not very encouraging.

Thinking they wanted Yams for his goal scoring.. Benson is clearly the better overall player so only reason I can see why they recalled Yamamoto

I would have brought them both up. Send one of the other bums that we have plenty of down

While Benson does have the much better PPG at 0.92 to Yams 0.68. Yamamoto scores goal at better then 1 goal per 3 games and Benson is closer to 1 per 5 games. Yamamoto has also been on again off again with his wrist injury so maybe the kid is finally healthy.

P.S. I still feel the Oilers should call up Benson as well feel like he would be the perfect playmaker for Draisaitl's LW in a big 3 seperated lineup

I'm curious if the Oiler's are trying to showcase some younger players for potential trades. Feels like a few rumors are swirling and the Oiler's are in need of getting some life injected into the lineup.

Yamamoto has better skating and energy, the Oilers have been flat the past few weeks.

Benson will get his chance. One at a time.

(I would have brought up Benson instead, too. I just don't think them bringing Yammer is a signal that they don't see any upside in Benson.)

Suprised to see Sheahan playing the wing. He's the Oilers best faceoff man and it's not even close.

Actually RNH is their best faceoff man. And I imagine Sheahan will still take the draws on that line, but revert to wing since Haas is the better center outside of faceoff ability.
