i feel like thats an overpay for kahun and shore. especially if you are going to use shore as a 4th liner.

No way would the Ducks trade for JJ.

Would Ducks fans do something like Mayfield and Komarov for Ritchie? Ducks get a top-4 RHD on an awesome contract (makes almost identical to Ritchie) and a Ritchie replacement. Isles get some cap space and a Matt Martin replacement for the fourth line.

That's an utterly senseless trade for the Ducks. Lundestrom has the promise of being a #2C eventually. (Right now he's playing between his countrymen Rickard Rakell and Jacob Silfverberg.) Rowney is a perfectly acceptable fourth-liner either at C or RW. Johnson is an old, slow LhD, where we have Lindholm, Fowler, Larsson, Guhle and Mahura, with Jackson Lacombe and Henry Thrun in the pipeline, so all he would mean to Anaheim is a press-box onlooker occupying a roster spot better spent on someone else. Kahun isn't anywhere near the talent of Lundestrom, and behind John Gibson we have the Czech Republic's goalie at this year's WJC, so DeSmith isn't a valuable addition. An on-the-horizon second and out-of-sight third doesn't make up for the otherwise uselessness of this trade.

I don't think Comtois will ever play a game for the Ducks at center; he's a scorer, so he belongs on a line with a great passer like Getzlaf or Steel.

I wouldn't do that JJ trade as PIT, Kahun has been on the best shutdown line in the league this year (by far) and has been one of the 10 or so best defensive forwards in the league this year, he also can chip in offensively, and play anywhere in the lineup, plus the picks should be plenty to move JJ next year (who can play the right side) and DeSmith for Rowney seems like a pretty fair swap to me as a fan of both teams

DeSmith for Rowney is fine on value, but we don't need a backup goalie with Stolarz and Boyle on the roster.

I'm not that impressed with either of them as a long term solution, I'd rather sign an FA or claim a guy off waivers next year (assuming Miller retires)
