I like Miller but he is not a top paring guy. Not even close.

Not really a Miler fan. Would rather trade Johnsson for futures....let's say a second rounder and the 3.4m signing maybe a short term UFA. But think you're correct the Leafs are going to trade a winger and use the cap to fill a RHD.

Miller is barely a bottom pair guy.

Not really a miller fan? No one really is... but he got a 2nd and a 3rd. The fact that you would give up nylander for a a 2nd really doesn’t put this suggestion out your realm of nearly comedic melancholy.

Sabres would rather a RHW. With olofsson and skinner (when he returns) on the right they have only Reinhart. Leafs have no use for another bottom pair rhd.

I did say Johnsson for second not Nylander. Personally I think Johnsson is worth more than a second, but if you trading for futures and not getting cap back, in might be a mid teen pick in second round.
The trade posted is OK if you think Miller is going to be OK for couple of years at 3.8m. I'm just suggesting there are other ways to get cap space, sign players instead of a direct one for one trade.

The problem with the cap space is you have no one to fill it. Now you have to trade off more assets.

And no, I don’t think miller is a good fit. Leafs have plenty of options at his skill level. The leafs need one good rhd (doesn’t have to be a big name) that can handle top pair next year.

It's amazing how well Reilly played last year with the maligned Hainsey as his partner. I'm not suggesting Hainey next year, but that type of player that could be competent with Reilly or any Leaf partner. Think the Leafs need two of those next year. If you could snag two for a 6m total,,,,that would be great.

Rielly is doing the exact same thing this season... just a bit snake bitten in the goal department and not playing pp1 anymore. I’m not a huge fan of him being paired with Barrie though.

I really like Reilly but youre right, not with Barrie. I would love to see Reilly with Dermott. Ideal Pairings would be Reilly and Dermott. Muzzin and Holl and Sandin and Barrie. All three lines getting use. This is for playoffs too, let Sandin kill it throughout the season with the Marlies

That isn't true all all. The Leafs do not have "plenty" of options at his skill level.
