Keeping Strome Georgie Tony D and Lemmy

Created by: mvp13
Team: 2020-21 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 30, 2019
Published: Dec. 30, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
While this is entirely possible, I'm not so sure how ideal it'll be. Everyone keeps saying "Keep Georgie Keep Georgie", but this means Igor spends at least one more year in the AHL, and creeps that much closer to returning to the KHL. I guess it all depends on what his mindset is, and most importantly, what type of bridge deal Georgie would settle on... and double importantly, how Igor handles any NHL work load he may or may not face this season

I wanted to keep this conservative, because I do think this young team is good and will find their consistency if kept together like this, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a Skeji trade with all of our promising LHD coming up. Obviously Staal would be preferred to go, but Skeji would be much easier to move to make room for a Hajek, Rykov, Miller, or Tarmo.

Strome gets signed over Kreider, who along with Fast gets TDLed for picks/prospects. The scratches are mainly filler contracts just to eat up spots/money, sub in any ELC or AHL contract here. Lines are kind of a WIP as Kreider certainly leaves a void on the LW

Again, the big concern is juggling the three goalies here

Imagine having a username "Claesson4Norris", saying "effing", and complaining about "Lemmy" or "Georgie"... all right, Frankie

Keeping Georgiev means doing the right thing: move Heaven and Earth to get Hank his cup win and move forward with both young, quality goaltenders. Colorado comes to mind: they can afford a 50%-retained Lundqvist for the final year of his deal, and they're a damn good team now.

Strome is not a guy you want playing #2C long-term. He's a career #3C that's been overperforming right when he's due for a raise. He's absolutely a piece you move at the deadline to increase draft capital. If the Blackhawks cannot get out of their salary cap hell by the draft, there's an argument to be made for the Rangers trading this year's high 1st Round Pick and a selection of prospects to pull Dylan Strome out of Chicago. If you needed a capable #2C or a guy that could grow to become a #1C, he might be your guy.

That could be as easy as him coming back the season after on a league-minimum deal to sit in the pressbox for all but 5-10 games over the course of the season. It would have to be agreed on in advance in order to facilitate Hank waiving his NMC.

I think King Henrik is not retiring, might even be back another year at league minimum.

Hank saying he wants to retire a Ranger most nearly means he wants to play his career as a Ranger...

Who is saying Strome needs to be the 2C forever? Strome can play the wing, too. Lines are based off of current team chemistry and composition. Also makes no sense for a young, rebuilding team to get rid of a young, 2C in Dylan Strome

Kreider and Fast TDL trades for non roster assests in picks/prospects. I like to be more conservative in my arm chair GM posts... majority of proposed trades are so unlikely and one sided. I also like to believe this team can keep getting experience and winning with most of this unit in tact

Then if you cannot move Lundqvist you should definitely not invest $5M in Ryan Strome to be an overpaid #3C. I see no harm in Lundqvist going elsewheres to have a legitimate shot at winning then coming back to retire as a Ranger, but you apparently know his exact thought process so no need to argue that any further.

Do you realize how stupid that sounds? "Oh, overpay the guy then put him on the wing, that solves it!".

Dylan Strome might be a cap casualty due to the mismanagement of the Blackhawks. If it costs you this years' 1st Round Pick and some auxiliary draft selections, you should pay him $5M instead of his lesser older brother.

lmfao, You're a clown. Good luck out there. Hank had every opportunity to leave already, and was asked by the media plenty of times and said he wants to be a Ranger forever. If he wanted to go compete for a cup, he would've left a year or two ago. If he just wanted a cup, why would he wait around in the rebuild for 2 years and make his chances less as he gets in the upper 30s? 5million for nearly a point per game guy is an overpay... funny stuff. He's had two strong years with the Rangers now, and is a versatile guy on the wing and on center and can be slotted anywhere in the top 9. The "Chiarelli" in your name suits you well. You wanna sit here and nitpick every word, then you trade Ryan Strome for Zac Rinaldo and Mark Jankowski, AND put Brendan Smith on the 3rd line of your Arm Chair GM team... get out of town you clown
