Description
Of the 60 goalies that have played at least 50 games over the past 3 years, Holtby is 40th in Sv% (tied with Jake Allen) and 43rd in GAA (behind Martin Jones). These are not elite numbers... I know he's a famous name, but if we're honest here he's not worth what I've paid him in the regular season. I'd rather have Greiss on a shorter term contract, but Holtby is from Lloydminster SK and thus more likely to sign in Edmonton.

I know you're going to write angry / dismissive comments about the likelihood of Neal getting traded, but Holland was able to move Lucic last summer, so anything's possible. If I remove Galchenyuk I have enough cap space to keep him. Also, he can be bought out easily, although I don't see the point. For all the negativity about Neal's 5v5 performance this year, he's been doing fine - he's among the team leaders in CF%, SF%, xGF% and HDCF% but has been getting terrible luck: 4.98 on-ice shooting percentage and 89.88 on-ice save percentage. Those numbers should regress to the meat, just as his PP heater has normalized over the past couple of months.

Holtby is a UFA after having a pretty similar numbers to Bobrovsky. Hes also going to be the same age as Bob was when he got $70M from the panthers. Holtby is going to be getting lot more than a cheap, short term deal.
Besides that, I say most the deals are in the right ballpark for projections. Id be hesitant to go after Dadanov. I think there are several other top 6 wingers that might be better giving that money to.

Actually, speaking of Jake Allen: should Edmonton consider some sort of trade built around Chiasson+Wells for Allen? St. Louis frees up some cap space and Edmonton gets a goaltender that might(?) be good for the year they require his services?

Bob was .931, .921 and .913 in the 3 seasons prior to this one. Holtby is .907, .911 and .904 - below league average for a starter, as I mentioned above in the Team Explanation. Three years in a row below league average, I don't see him getting a big money contract.

The Bobrovsky contract was a mistake and I doubt anyone will emulate it.

    That could work too.

Mostly agree with this comment. If he's happy with 3x3M, though, I hope he'll stick around Washingotn.
