And I don't think a trade for Savard would get done either, but he is the guy we'd be looking for. RHD of his age, size and ability, although the cap hit is a bit steep, and we'd have to unload cap to get him like I did here. Columbus isn't bad enough yet to pull the trigger on selling anything right now, so if they don't collapse soon, they'll probably keep their current pieces (after looking at the standings, they're not good, so maybe they will sell soon). I think they're more likely to sell Savard a year from now if he isn't re-signing before then. The trade value will be significantly reduced then though.

Plus, Korpasalo is out for 6 weeks or more with that knee injury so I don't know who the heck they will have in net now. A bunch of young, AHL level guys probably. Wonder if we could trade them Holtby? ))

I might be down for that. lol Although despite Holtby having lapses, we still need him for the playoffs this year, I think. Not sure I trust Sammy for the playoffs just yet.

Panik's 42nd among listed right wings in goals/60 this year, no minimum games played. When it comes to scoring goals, he's a legit top six right wing, while playing with Eller.

He's a good forechecker, good at puck possession. He's not a creative playmaker like Eller is used to playing with, and it took them a while to decide to pass the puck to each other, but they're not that bad right now, since they've worked that out.

CBJ already has too many RW. If you want to trade them one, you can't pretend he's worse than he is, or they'll just happily pass, unless a big offer for Anderson comes along.

If I'm trading him, I'm not deflating him to the team I'm trying to trade him to first. You think I'm a fool, Eli? The point of this trade is to hope that Columbus is ignorant and makes the trade, of course! I think Jensen and Panik have a similar value, they're both decent for 3rd line or 3rd pair, which nets you, what? Maybe a third each? It's a slight overpay for Savard, but he's a legit top 4 with a decent contract, plus I'm making them retain.
