Oleksiak to Edmunson is a lateral move. Doesn't make sense for Dallas to give up additional pieces for a lateral move that is more expensive.

Eddy is an upgrade over Oleksiak, not a lateral move, particularly on the PK, where he's one of the best defenders in the game when that particular skill is concerned. He would also give Dallas extra cap flexibility next offseason to either extend him medium-term or use his cap and roster space on a good RHD. To me, the difference between Oleksiak and Eddy's respective values is Julius Honka.
