Idk, what you're suggesting about Holl. Are you saying he's better than a 2nd/3rd pairing? There's tons of guys in the league who fulfill those roles, hell even Jack Johnson does for the Pens lmao. There's value there, but he's not the answer on D for Toronto imo
I'm almost suggesting the Leafs and probably other teams don't have this ridiculous numbering system. It's about as ridiculous as numbering your starter in MLB, when all four guys get the same number of starts during the regular season. Is one pitchers start more valuable than another?
Take the Leafs. Is Reilly a # 1? Yea he plays the most minutes mostly due to PP. He plays rarely on the PK. If that makes a # 1 on Leaf...so be it. I just don't get it.
Some say Barrie is the # 1 RHD on the Leafs. I don't know what that means. Again he's a guy who isn't trusted on the PK. Ceci and Holl have those duties. I just don't know what a 2nd and 3rd pairing means on some teams and from my knowledge of the Leafs....the numbering system is meaningless.
Don't know what you mean that Holl isn't the answer s on D. He's a 2m player...Don't know if of any team that has "the answer" for all six defence positions. Betcha there are about 5 or 6 Dmen per team that "aren't the answer". Why is Holl different?
What I'm saying is a player (let's say Dman), is on the ice, the stupid numbering system is meaningless. It almost suggests that a 5th or 6th Dman can screw up, but it doesn't really matter because are number one and two Dmen will pull us out of the poor situation you bottom enders have created.
