But marleau wasn’t a healty strach every single game. Backes is worth nothing. He would already been move if it only cost a 2nd or a mid prospect smartaas. Bruins doesnt keep him for is nice eye mister know it all they just can’t find anyone stupid enough to take take contract. Salut face de smeg

If he’s being acquired to be bought out what difference does that make? Did Montreal care what Steve Mason’s PT and stats were? No. They took him to acquire some assets cheaply.

Boston would have to upgrade the prospects in this package, but it’s doable except for 1 thing. Backes is not waiving his NTC in season to go to NJ.

What it takes to move Backes is going to depend on a number of factors. When (this year or next) , where, what is coming back (usable asset?, late pick?, career minor leaguer? Bad contract?) All of which will alter the outcome and it’s a pretty wide range of what it could be.

Boston had chances to move him, they chose not to pay the cost. Unlike Toronto, they are not backed into a corner and need to. They can simply buy him out next year themselves. They can re-sign everyone except Halak who is going to get a better offer elsewhere anyway regardless.

How tf did you guys get him in the third????

He slid. He had a 2nd round grade, one of the best skaters in the draft but his offense was questionable. Thought for sure B’s were taking him in the 2nd, Sweeney type of player and still on the board. Was surprised he was still there in the 3rd.
