This deal is awful for Chicago. Galchenyuk is a cap dump while Gustafsson and Saad are the two best players in this deal

McCann is great. The cap dump is Saad. Who would I rather have a guy playing bottom 6 only making just over 1 million who has 23 points and 10 goals in 37 games or the guy playing top 6 making 6 million who has only 19 points and 11 goals in 36 games? Yeah I’ll stick with the cheaper guy that can play all 3 forward positions, up and down the line up, and who is out scoring the guy making 5 million more playing top 6. Not to mention McCann has played the majority of the season with guys like Simon, Kahun, and Lafferty. So he is the man on his line usually.
Gustafson is a 3rd pairing D. He’s at best the 3rd best player in the trade and we have two 3rd pair LHD already. He’s also trash defensively.
With Guentzel being out til the playoffs now, the pens are likely looking to trade a D for forward help. And not cap dumps like Saad.

Awful possession numbers, point totals propped up by Pit's power play while Saad scores more at even strength than all of pits forwards besides the obvious big 3 all the while actually driving play and being great defensively.
