KEEFE WORKS HIS MAGIC AGAIN TONIGHT

Created by: TMLSage
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 31, 2019
Published: Dec. 31, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Leafs improved to 8-1-1 in last 10 games with a strong defensive effort in win against Wild tonight playing without Johnsson, Moore, Mikhayev and Muzzin. Sheldon Keefe is quickly transforming Leafs into a Powerhouse team in the NHL. Is there any other team in the NHL that has 4 top forwards better than Taveres, Matthews, Marner and Nylander or has better overall depth of players than the Leafs?

Wow they beat the 19th place minnesota wild. Great job. And yes, there are teams with better depth

Probably not any teams with such a stacked top 4 forwards, but there are certainly teams with better overall depth

You might be right about forward "depth". Unfortunately a team also consists of Dmen and goalies. Let's talk about the Leaf greatness after they secure a playoff spot or shall I be optimistic win a playoff round. I will agree you...Keefe seems to be able to coach his players which the previous coach didn't want to do.

Tampa bay finish last season with 62 win and 132 point ! Who gave a **** they got kick out of the first round. The problem is still the same you can defend. If you doesn’t improve on defense you won’t make a deep run in playoff. There only one team in the past 30-40 year that have finished outside the top 10 in goal allowed and win the cup and it was the penguins in 91

Agree with you on the lack of goalie depth but actually think Leafs defenseman depth of Marincin, Sandin, Liljegren, Kivhalme and Schmaltz is more than adequate by NHL standards. I feel the Leafs and their fans are now in the presence of greatness with Sheldon Keefe and his affect on transforming the team into a winner and great team.

I recall that Washington finished 12th or 13th in goals against the year they won. Am I wrong?

Montreal has allowed one less goals in 1 less game. Your window to chirp the Leafs was shorter than Montreal's window to look like a playoff team this season. Throwing stones in a glass house is never wise. TO is making the playoffs and considering they are the hottest team in the NHL and for the most part have been far better defensively under Keefe, your words are as empty as can be.

I actually think it was 16th. Leafs allowed eight more goals during the season than the Caps. But somehow, it's only the Leafs that can't be successful unless they have a top five GAA according to some.
Now I don't think the Leafs can win the Cup with their current lineup. But if I look at the Leafs team in the past six weeks since Keefe arrived....the proof is winning %,, which means they have allowed fewer goals than their opponents.

And toronto have won nothing since 1967 montreal had 9 in that spend. That the reality lets focus in that. You can even past the first round that how ****ty you are. It took you 10 years to rebuit a decent team montreal will do it in four years. I garantee a cuo in Montreal before you even make it to the second round.

To brag about the past to chirp about the present doesn't really win any arguments. Right now, Montreal is going to miss the playoffs again. TO will fight with Tampa for home advantage in the 1st round. Your words are empty and your insights are just silly.

And your arena is empty with champion banner so bye bye LOOSER. Montreal haven’t tank on a season just to get Matthews. You are a bunch of LOOSER and will lost again in first round and you will come back next year with the same bullshat that you said all year long about how the maple leafs are good and bla bla bla but they can’t win nothing so how gave a shat about them. A bunch of Losers that it

The guy with nothing to say but talk about how awesome things were in 93 is about as weak an argument for the present as one can get. Loser this, loser that. Right now, as in the time we live in, guess who's losing more? It's the team with the fan that likes to use loser 5 times in a statement. This isn't even fun anymore, it's just pointless to talk to an irate Habs fan living in the past. Montreal isn't a good team and their future cap situation will make it impossible to contend even if their prospects pan out. Say whatever you want but the loser here is the guy living in the past who's future is as dim as his wits.

Our futur cap situation ??? farme ta yule you are the worst team in the league for salary cap so gave that argument to other. You have 14 millions to sign 13 players next years. Thats how bad thing are in toronto montreal have plebty of cap room for thisnyear and year to come its not even a problem.

How is that? The Leafs are up against the cap yes but no bad contracts. Montreal is currently paying around 9 million for either guys in the AHL or guys not even in the NHL. On top of that they have two guys who are under contract for almost 20 million until they are 39 and 40. What does TO have? They are the only team in the NHL with 4 players in the top 40 in league scoring and two of them missed time this season. Those also happen to be the 4 players dim witted trolls like to point out as the reason TO is in "cap he'll". Seems like if they are paid to be scoring and they are doing that near the top of the league, it's money well spent. But maybe instead of giving Matthews 11.5 million they could pay Alzner to ride the bus in the minors. When all these hot shot rookies who guys like you like to say will all be stars want money how will you afford them? It'll be in the twilight of Price and Weber's careers where they will still make almost 20 million. It's so clear that you have no idea how the cap works. If you did you'd realize how much bad Montreal's outlook is.
