If Mikheyev is healthy and healing well I think teams take a run at him for 3 million. He's a solid Middle 6 guy with size and is a glue guy. The buyout on that is a 2nd. It's worth it.

I was never there to begin with.
So how can I be back again?
The cost on Marner was way to much to give up.
But that's virtually nothing for a guy who can probably net 20 goals on another team for the next 4-5 years. And it only costs a 2nd.

You were not but this site was as a whole.. offersheet Kapanen, offersheet Johnsson, offersheet Marner.. Aho offersheet killed offersheet for good.
Mikheyev would have to agree to that offersheet and he would not do that.

Kap isn't on pace for 20 goals; I'm not sure this guy is worth as much as a lot Leaf fans think he is. If so, Kubalik must be worth a lot on the hawks too. Bottom line, Kap is a supporting role player, sure he has upside, but his value seems to be decreasing.

I think at 2 year bridge deal Dermott would get at least 2 million dollars. I would try to get him to sign a 3 year deal as to not have his contract ending at the same year as Riellys. i would give him 2.25M on a 3 year deal.

I like the 2 year deal for Engvall. i would go as high as 1 million a season.

i think Gauthier and timishov will get offered a league minimum contracts for 1 or 2 years. Unless someone offerssheets then for between league minimum and 1.3M they will be signed cheap.

Mikheyev Deal seems reasonable.

I would rather trade Johnsson and or Kapanen for help on defense and avoid Signing Pietrangelo. I am afraid of big money to 30 year old players. If he would be guaranteed to have the longevity of Giordano or Chara i would be all for it, but i don't think it is worth the risk.

JT Miller just got a 1st on a bigger deal. Its the going rate, really when think of it if you draft a 1st rounder and they become a solid 2-3 line winger you are happy. Thats what he is

I hate to break it to you but no one killed offersheets.
The real reason they exist isn't to go after guys that will return you 4 1st round picks. But go after guys who you can get reasonably priced who can fill a larger role on your team.
He's probably a 2nd line winger on a lot of teams. If you can pick that up for 3.5 you would do it. As that's a fair and going rate for those kind of guys. Don't get me wrong no one is going to offer that up at 4+ or whatever it is for a 1st round pick. But a pick that only has 25% chance of becoming a pro player, and a little cap space. And someone will poke their head around on that.
It's never the high priced guys that go. Teams sign them long term etc... It's the lower tier guys who are told the cap is tight that tend to find more space somewhere else. So yeah, I think that's a real possibility. It depends how healthy he is though. He's got to be able to prove he is ok for that to happen. No one is gonna take a run at someone having surgery repairing tendons on their hands. He's got to prove he's ok. That goes for TOR as well. He might not be healthy enough to risk that contract.

I wouldn't bet on it. I mean if you were going to invest 12 million on a guy wouldn't you want to know he's healthy.

But you know that Mikheyev picked Toronto from like 30 teams and absolutely wants to be here. He would need to sign an offersheet and he wont. Also Leafs are likely signing him at 3-3.5 range. Also you say that offersheets are meant to be on those guys like Mikheyev, yet no offersheet ever had come on that kind of player.
