Take out Thompson completely from the deal, also remove Weber but replace him with something of pretty decent value and maybe Buffalo might consider it, would need to be something that could help them immediately though.

If you take out Thompson, you have to take out Saros too. Risto is too expensive for a 3rd pair D, and Hutton doesn't have much value. Tage is the only interesting part of this for NSH.

Granlund's value has probably dropped quite a bit, Ristolainen is for Saros, Hutton gives you a backup for Rinne, Ristolainen wouldn't be a 3rd pairing, Fabbro would or that's the assumption. I haven't watched much Preds this season so not sure how Fabbro is doing but having a 3rd pairing of Hamhuis and Fabbro sounds pretty good and with the term Ristolainen has left it'd give some time for Fabbro to develop on the 3rd pairing, also good to have solid D depth for the playoffs.

I'm neither a Sabres or Preds fan but just how I see it, perhaps something needs to be in their on the Sabres side but Thompson seems a bit much for me and as a piece from the O'Reilly trade don't think they should move him for this.

Honestly, this proposal doesn't make much sense for either side. Granlund hasn't been a good fit in NSH, but he's still the type of player teams pay a 2nd + for at the deadline. Not sure why BUF would want a pending UFA though, as they aren't contenders. Fabbro's been good. Limiting his minutes in favour of Risto doesn't seem like a good idea for his development. Sabres need him more than the Preds do. Trading Saros is the biggest mistake here. Ingram has looked good so far, but it's too early to make him the future of the franchise. A Rinne-Hutton combo would likely be a disaster. They're both old and deteriorating. Nashville would regret this trade. If Thompson ever fulfills his potential, Buffalo does too.
