If anything theyd ship him to Boston, but an Eichel trade would start with MacKinnon

no it wouldnt bc thats not how these trades work. Why would Avs give up the better cost controlled player?

Dahlin>Makar

dude you are not answering the question, and stop being a homer.
Makar is outscoring and out producing Dahlin at a decently large clip this season. While playing solid defence etc etc. They both are great players but take the time to actually process the thought before default to homer my player is better than your player cliche crap

and Avs would never trade Mackinnon, thats why I said trades dont work like that
If the Oilers trade McDavid they are getting a franchise 1C back

I asked another sabres fan would you trade Dahlin+ for Rantanen bc hes saying it starts with Makar, meaning more than jus this. The answer is no you wouldnt trade Dahlin, thats point. teams wont trade 20 year old Norris level Dmen on their ELCs.

you started it off by saying it starts with MacKinnon, that is not what you are saying, IF a team traded away their Franchise 1C, they are not getting a franchise 1C back.
thats what I am saying, you said the opposite

I dont disagree with you here about the homer stuff. That being said, Dahlin is on a horrible buffalo team and Makar is on a overpowered one. The fact that Dahlin has as many points as he does on that buffalo team speaks wonders oh how good he is. Dahlin has also been their best shutdown guy in his second year, which is crazy. Maker is more subjected to team second pairs. Both average 21-24 mins a night. Both guys are elite but you cant argue either is better than the other right now

Im not arguing that my guy is better than his guy, just pointing out some normal stats that show advantage Makar, you could even look at his GoalsAboveReplacement, a league leader with how special of a talent he is, Point was guy just can rapid fire response back my guy is better than yours bc its not a slam dunk statement like that

Which I can agree on. As a Leafs fan I'm used to every team saying their player is better and every Leafs fan saying the same ****

Lets be real, Makar would be a package for Eichel. Dahlin wouldnt for Rantanen. Only reason is position. Franchise centers are the hardest thing to come by in the NHL. Top 5 wingers are easier to find

That’s not my point it’s adding more to your young stud dman in an unnecessary trade. Swap it to Matthews then, it doesn’t matter who

It’s easy for them to say makar plus and if they believed that they would be willing to move dahlin plus in a similar trade. And I can guaranteed they wouldn’t. Don’t ask what you aren’t willing to do yourself
