Can’t say I’m a big fan of any of this. It is something original though.

Any particular reason for not being a fan of the trades?

You really don't think much of Liljegren do you. The kid is going to be a very good player as soon as he gets into the league. Already the best defensive defenceman on the farm team and is what 21? He's going to be an important part of the Blueline moving forward. These trades are all just moves to appease fan angst. None of it really helps. If you can get a backup for cheap that would be a clear cut improvement over Hutch, do that. If you can improve on Ceci sure but only if it doesn't cost much. He's fine as a 3rd pair guy. None of this really helps and it costs way too much.

The only move adressing the TML current needs is DAL one...rest is shooting blanks.....and i doubt DAL would bite.....

I wouldn't say it's shooting blanks. It addresses the needs of adding Grit in preparation for the Playoffs. A department they are desperately lacking in.

Oleksiak adds size and some .easier of toughness on the back end. Kassian has some offensive prowess and can apply grit.

And Palmieri (in my opinion) will add more to the Leafs firepower than Johnson would.

That's how I thought things out when designing these trades.
Some may have been slight overpayment in some people's eyes, but I sold from an area of strength to help an area of weakness.

My reasoning for adding Lily is this:

Yes he is a top prospect. However, for the leafs he hasn't had a good chance to display this due to injuries. I figured sell high now just in case he's injury prone and his stock drops.

He's shown great this season, what are you even talking about? Top pair on the farm all season and he's been their shutdown guy. He's going to be on the Blueline next year for sure.b
