That’s terrible for Pittsburgh. Addison is supposed to be one to replace Schultz next year. Losing both would be devastating to the pens

i could see the leafs doing this trade, gives them a dman for playoffs and a prospect to build on for a few years. and giving up a top 9 forward and a top 6 forward who is cost controlled for a few years.

Very interesting deal for both sides. Leafs aren't all that deep on the left side tho so it'd be tough to let Andreas go. Would you do the same deal minus the third round pick and swap for kapanen? So Schultz+Addison for Kapanen+Bracco?

I agree, think they'd strongly consider it. It also would then allow them to move Ceci out and free up a lot of cap space for the deadline or just roster flexibility if need be.

I'd honestly rather have Kappy, but there's been some rumors about Johnsson so I put him in there. Sure, I'd definitely do that

Leafs depth on the left has sky rocketed. This makes Johnsson expendable.

Although I can’t see the Pens making this offer I highly doubt Addison is ready next year.

Leafs have an "excess" of wingers when healthy, so a trade like this makes sense. Leafs need more NHL Dman, since they are razor think in numbers. I really don't know if the current edition of Schultz is that much better than Ceci or Barrie, IMO the the two weakest Leafs.

No because we always were going to need two RHD for next year. It just made us set for next year.

Didn’t think Marino would be ready this year either, same with Lafferty. But the pens aren’t going to take from a position they will be thin next year and completely gut it for more forwards, when fully healthy next year will have like 15-16 nhl ready forwards next year without mango and bracco. Schultz and a LHD prospect for Mango and Bracco maybe could see being done.

Marino has 3 years on Addison. But yes, I agree with you.
