deadline moves and next year opening roster

Created by: harrisonwright19
Team: 2020-21 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 2, 2020
Published: Jan. 2, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
tierney trade in offseason, just dont see room for him and pageau long term as each play same role and have norris/brown/pinto coming up, all trades off of value, could be prospects worth same as the pick value in each trade

#1-Alexis Lafreniere
#4-Tim Stutzle
#26-Kaiden Guhle

Brady tkachuk signs a
8X6.25M extension july 1st

leave me your thoughts below, love to talk sens hockey, and like i said all trades are just for value purposes on returns and my thoughts and keep the rebuild moving, i think after 20-2021 season we add in FA and build around young guys. and i think its important to sell at deadline big time, especially with expansion draft after 20-21 season

Just a heads up Guhle has looked quite unimpressive on a less stacked PA team this year, and if Tkachuk signs long term for less than 10.5 mil he's insane, easily your best player, plus with the cap increase coming at the end of his deal with SEA coming in, and the new TV deal, the cap probably jumps to around 90 mil, all of a sudden a 12+ mil deal sounds less insane for a legit superstar

I'd pay that to Tkachuk in a heartbeat if he was on PIT (and we had a shred of cap space lol) not July 1 of 2020, but July 1 of 2021 after probably another team leading 80+ point season, playing at roughly a top 10% forward defensively, and after the cap goes up to roughly 90 mil, where 10 mil is now 11% of the cap compared to the roughly THIRTEEN percent TOR gave Marner... You'll be getting the arguably better player (definitely imo) for a cheaper cap hit% (and cheaper cap hit) and you cover those 3 years of UFA status... this is long term, bridge deals are unpredictable and vary wildly

Its not an argument...marner is clearly better than tkachuk, however tkachuk is a very good player and does lots of things better than marner, but he will never be better or on the same level as mitch marner

I like the trades! I think the goalie market is normally very slow and teams normally get less value than they should for them so Anderson may bring in slightly less than a 3rd potentially, and i personally think pageau is more likely to bring in a 2nd + a decent but not great prospect, rather than a 1st

I dont agree with the other guy saying 10.5.

Thats just outrageous. If his production jumps 50% next year like his brothers did, I think he would take the Chabot offer of 8x8.

If he continues to be a 50pt kid, he will sign a bridge deal and I could see 3x6.5
