I think too many people undervalue Frolik. He could slot into BUF's 2nd line, 3rd line for sure. A capable veteran presence with a Cup and a well-liked guy in the room. BUF won't have to pay him $4.3M next year either. With more ice time in a middle 6 role, Frolik will prove he's worth a 4th rounder.

That said...it's a bit weird to see BUF as the landing spot for this guy, given where they are in the standings. I guess it's possible that BUF could retain some salary and trade him to a playoff team looking for some depth for a 3rd rounder? Or retain/package him with someone else?

Don't get me wrong -- I have been hoping and praying to get Frolik and his cap hit off the books all year, so I'm loving this from CGY's perspective. I love how Rieder and Ronaldo have played over him lately, and I think Czarnik deserves some time on the roster.

Just not that surprised that CGY got "something back" for Frolik.
