I think its unlikely but possible at the draft once every team's position is decided and teams have figured out who they want and where they think they will fall. I cant see it happening at the deadline

Never said it’s a deadline deal either since i’m stating if the pick is #5-8 which we don’t know until the draft gets closer
Maybe should have been more clear on that

Sens aren't trading a top ten pick. They need front end skill more than they need a bottom 4 D and a Backup/1B goalie.

No. He been solid, and he's still young for a goalie, but he's not a true number one in my opinion. He can be a really good tandem goalie, but he's not a 50 game goalie.

There's a reason he's expendable to New York.

i don't think any team playing thomas chabot 35 minutes a night gets to say they don't need capable defensemen.

For sure. But you don't trade a top 10 pick for a stopgap solution. That's incredibly stupid. The sens have guys coming on D.

That’s two, 2 top 10 picks. Ottawa isn’t trading them.

.....then again Dorian has traded some valuable assets for nothing before

Sens have Zaitsev locked up with term(not getting moved any time soon, unfortunately), and they are probably re-signing Dylan DeMelo. That's two of three RD spots. Then you have Thomson and JBD who both project as top 4 RD coming in the future, and Brannstrom who prefers playing the right side. All that assuming they don't

Sens are going to be very crowded on the blueline in the coming years. Again, it's not that I think DeAngelo wouldn't be a good fit in Ottawa, it's that the Need for guys like him and Georgiev is far lower that the need for elite level skill, which is something Ottawa doesn't have a lot of. They have solid depth/2nd-3rd line/pair skill coming through. Priority number 1 in the organization is to add 1st line skill.
