I think these are good moves by MB. What do they have to lose?! Worst case is he can sell to the fan base that he at least did something and next year they disappear. It's not like any assets were lost. Heck, Maybe Scandella or Kovy actually turn things around being on a better team. Who knows?

But if he find his game, he could be traded to a contender close to the cap at deadline. Win-win for MTL
