Leafs have been the best team in the league since Keefe took over but they've probably also had the easiest schedule since then. Hate to rain on the parade but the team's underlying defense problems have not gone away and are going to rear up down the stretch. Willy's value has never been higher but he's been racking up points against garbage teams. Now is the time to make a move

Definitely hate to side with Toronto, but Calgary needs to add a nice amount here

Not even close, at this point to bring up Nylander in trade convo with Calgary also puts Tkachuk in the conversation

No matter what Nylander does, there are always going to be those who think he should be traded. It really isn't fair to him when he's been playing out of his mind lately and is still young.

Wow was I ever ahead of the curve. Proposing Nylander for Tkachuk in 2018 and that pesce wasn't enough as he is not a #1 dman. Glad to see the rest of y'all catch up (and by rest I mean some as op boomer over here still doesn't get it)

I absolutely love Nylander, he's my favourite player but Tkachuk for Nylander in a 1 for 1 is something worth pondering. However, I wouldn't do it because Tkachuk's contract sucks and his next one is going to be massive. His QO is 9 million. I'd rather have another 3 years of Nylander for 6.9 than have another forward making over 10 million

I remember a time where Carolina wanted to trade Pesce for Nylander and Dubas countered with saying Slavin. I think Dubas was pretty close. Although, I wouldn't move Slavin for Nylander.

Oh I agree. I just knew the whole, Nylander for Pesce and TO adds nonsense wasn't going to age well. Nylander is an elite player, he was just young and still learning. The scary thing is, he's still young and learning. A 90 point season out of Nylander won't surprise me at all in the coming years.

Ya neither Toronto or Carolina would want to add to that trade. Nylander is definitely capable of a 90 point season ( could even get more than that ). And Pesce is arguably plays the best defense on the Canes.
