He's been about the 20th-25th best centre in the league over the last 3 seasons. I don't know what reactionary juice you've been drinking, but I'm guessing you were on the train to get Nylander out of Toronto until he *shockingly* started producing again like every advanced metric suggested. Even if he was somehow mediocre all of a sudden it's an insane bet that he won't regain his form, especially when the upside is a 2nd and a 3rd (on average what, a replacement level NHLer?) and Dillon, who's basically that too.

Im not sure its reactionary, its now been a full year since his ankle injury and he hasnt been the same player. He was already being shopped for Taylor Hall, and I wouldnt be shocked to see him moved for blue line help at the deadline. Especially with how Acciari and Connolly have done on the second line.

What's the upside for Florida here? Cause I see none. Maybe for a talented young D, but not for Dillon

A lefty dman thatd play 2nd line and maybe propel them into the playoffs, vs trocheck who can be replaced by acciari, malgin, or boyle

If the Panthers are to look like themselves I'd bet a lot more money on Trocheck regaining form than Dillon becoming good all of a sudden

just can see them trading an inconsistent players from a position of strength to build up a weak spot on the team
