Why would San Jose make this trade? Like I'm not arguing the value of a first and Mirtlestadt, but if San Jose is trading for futures why are they trading one of their youngest skilled players?

Hes 26, if they have to tear it down he could be in his 30s by the time theyre decent again, if theyre lucky. Not saying they would tear it down, they could be thinking that if Jones bounces back, that he'll be able to carry them a bit. I'm not agreeing with that currently, I dont really like that roster.
