Would You Do That Trade

Created by: leaflet
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 3, 2020
Published: Jan. 4, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Sandin just had a terrific performance at the juniors, once again. 4 points in the semi-final game. His value is huge.

Assuming Rielly and Dermott stay on the left side of our blue line, would you consider trading Sandin at the draft for Jamie Drysdale, the top prospect RHD? Or else a top RHD who's already in the NHL?

Long term, the top 4 could become

Rielly - Drysdale
Dermott - Liljegren

Is that what TSN tells you?

No. It's what watching him, the metrics , scouting reports, etc tell me. I'm just repeating myself at this point. Do you have an athletic membership? Read pronman's stuff, he agrees too. It's almost like your opinion goes against every expert and anyone who's ever actually watched him

The only thing you've sent is 3 tweets that were opinions, and were massively contested in the comments.

I mean, the metrics are publicly available if you were ever actually interested in looking. As is an eye test.

God I love pissing off habs fans, you guys are always funny as hell when triggered. You always overvalued your players and prospects and undervalue players and prospects of other teams that are universally higher ranked

Send me the metrics. I want to see him compared to his teammates, not a stat that his team inflates.

You aren't pissing anybody off, you're just embarassing yourself with you obvious bias.

Seider is a year younger and didnt allow a single 5 on 5 goal and was on a horrible team, but ya Sandin was way better when playing with Soderstrom all tourney

Just wait until he tries to justify his opinion. Can't wait until he replies with very selective advanced stats.

A Leafs fan overvaluing thier players, no surprise when spoon feed everything by TSN and Sportsnet, both owned by the Leafs.

Don't know how you can honestly say that, but it's a nice troll post. Leafs fans (or any fans) can watch the Marlies game on Leaf TV, and be objective in their evaluations of Marlie players. Sorry that Montreal fans only have the Habs in the big leagues so everything revolves around them. Leaf fans have many media outlets for all their pro sports desires, so they certainly can be well rounded in their evaluations if they desire. Personally I listen very little to the talking heads. My player evaluations are based on what I see on the ice as most rational sports fan should do.

You can pull his basic stats page from CF yourself

    Pronman before the tourney:
"Rasmus Sandin (Toronto) made the Leafs before being sent back to the AHL and is a returning member. He’s expected to be a leading player for this team, and given his success versus men, he should be a top player in the tournament. He was named top player in a pre-tournament game versus the Czech Republic."

    Also Pronman:
    "Rasmus Sandin, D, Toronto

    Drafted: No. 29

    Skating: 50
    Puck Skills: 55
    Physical Game: 45
    Hockey Sense: 65

Then: Sandin crossed the pond and was an important player for one of the best teams in the CHL. I knew some scouts who were very high on him because of his hockey sense, and others who didn’t see high-end mobility or skill as an undersized defenseman and thus weren’t as sold.

Now: Sandin had one of the best 18-year-old seasons in the AHL by a defenseman in recent memory, logging huge minutes in all situations. The concerns over his size and mobility remain to an extent, but he showed he could win battles versus men, and his elite brain allowed him to make a lot of plays at both ends."

I don't give a **** about scouting reports. I want this guy to prove to me how Sandin is better than Romanov. I could find 50 posts about bias Habs fans that say Romanov is the next coming of christ.

Oh, I don't consider the Rocket any different than the Habs, since the Canadiens like to fill the roster with NHL cap....Alzner, Weise and Kincaid.

What I was referring to was the Montreal Canadians are the only major league sports in town. Actually in my original narrative...I wrote "big leagues" which I thought would exclude the AHL.

What is Troll about it? Roger's owns Sportnet, Bell owns TSN and both Roger's and Bell own the Leafs. They have a mutual interest to spoon feed the Leafs to as many fans as possible.

Great you watch the Marlies, doesnt mean you watch every other prospect to judge which is the best. Most people only have these tournaments to go off of for europe prospects like Seider and Romanov. If you have watched the tournament both Romanov and Seider have played as good and at times better then Sandin.

Guess Subbanator7676/HabsforEver thinks Alzner is better prospect than Sandin because Alzner gets paid more.
