Looking for input on trades.

Not sure how high Blackhawks are on Nylander still, to me he is throw in as I dont value him very high, bottom 6 FW.
Maybe swap for Caggiula instead??

If I'm off basis, would appreciate feedback that is constructive.

Hawks would never do that especially with retained salary. A basis would be Murphy + Nylander for Kapanen, Ceci, 2021 1st. There is a premium on RHD, Murphy is playing well and has a good contract.

I'm not saying trade valuation is good but Nylander alone for Murphy would never happen.

Connor murphy is the blackhawks best defenseman. I think toronto over value a lot johnsson. Murphy is a solid top four defenseman can play shutdown minute with a physical edge. Johnsson is a nice complement for matthews and compagnie but the facts that he benefits a lot from playing with the best offense in nhl. I don’t see chicago making that trade unless toronto throw in bracco and a higher pick

Can you share how A. Nylander is in Hawks?

I still cant believe Bowman is not fired for trading joker for him.

There is a premium on RHD and Murphy has a really good contract for multiple years. The 1st has to be there or the Hawks should pass.

Funny. Murphy, an actually good and reliable defenseman, for Kapanen, an unreliable 3rd line winger. That trade does not happen 1 for 1

He has been ok. Started off the year good but cooled off. He is a hard worker who has a lot of offensive skill but will make bonehead plays sometimes. Needs to be more consistent.

Murphy , especially with his term is worth a lot more than Johnsson, partly because his RHD position. Hawks need Murphy too with Seabrook gone for at least at 1.5 years.
Gotta think Gorgeiev is worth a lot more than likely a bunch of of never be NHLers.

LMAO he has actually been pretty damn reliable 3RW with potential to be in top-6.

Murphy alone isnt worth 1st round pick, and adding Kapanen to that? Good lord.. some people are really overvalueing their guys.

Dont agree.
Murphy is really a 2nd pair D playing as 1st pair.

Georgiev, I think does not have the value of top6.
So yeah its quantity instead of quality.

Not a fan of A. Nylander. Just remove him entirely from the deal and try to get Murphy on his own.

If they threw in a 2021 2nd and put Bracco in there I'd be down still. But not Kapanen, TO's depth at RW isn't nearly as deep as the left so I think Kap is not going anywhere unless it's an offer you just can't refuse. And they can refuse Murphy, their defence is improving under Keefe and I am not sure they are going to slow down much offensively the rest of the way.

It's been a weird season and it's been a rollercoaster so far. They had a good summer and there was a tonne of excitement to start the season before things got really ugly there. Then everyone starts questioning if this team was just not that good. Babs gets fired, and Keefe takes over and they have been the best in the NHL since then. So it raises some interesting thoughts. A) was Babcock the problem B) Is Keefe just a superior coach. I think what is a better way of looking at it and to take some of the wind out of Keefe's sails is he really does have it pretty easy. It's not like this roster was questionable on paper, it's a star studded, massively skilled, fast team. He is just letting them be what they are best at and they are just really good. They have some things to tighten up sure and I think it's far more and issue with turnovers than the defence. The forwards can be a little reckless and that can cost them. When they are back organized however, they don't allow much in close. So cut down the turnovers and TO goes from looking really good, to down right dominant. Murphy doesn't really add that much to this, he certainly is better than Ceci but I think he's a guy I wouldn't overpay for. I'd pay a fair price but not too much.

Most hawks fans hate him because of who he was traded for... but he is a 21 year old with a lot of upside. I wouldn’t add A.Nylander as a supporting piece in any trade whatsoever. Off the table as far as I’m concerned.

Typical capfriendly greed, A.Nylander is somehow considered a throw in now when really the poster just wants him to replace Johnsson who he's trading for a retained Murphy, just flat out greed.

And then wants Andersson thrown in too cause ya know just throw in the disgruntled former 1st round pick and I'll send you a bunch of stuff, just more greed.

I think that the hawks will be a little bit more patient with him. He have some skill and speed but seem lost on ice some time. I thibk that he still is a good prospect and will growth with the other young blackhawks players.

From what hawks fans have been saying on here a deal based around Kapanen for Murphy would work. It's funny how on here every leaf player is a buy product of Matthews or JT yet Kap has been solid away from them and Johnsson drives play on his own. Too many people on here undervalue what AJ brings to the team I know he's been out and the team hasn't missed a beat but the guy does it all and he does it on his own. Everyone is saying we're deeper on the lw and I get why but we have to wait and see how Mik does when he comes back. Who knows how the leafs approach the TDL this year but it should be interesting, to say the least.
