Gropp... It's more likely Gropp plays next season in the ECHL than the NHL.

You do realize Wall has no value at this point. Since he is in his 4th and final year of college hockey when his season is over can sign with who ever he wants. So no team is going to give up much for him. Plus his ceiling is most likely the AHL and that's probably why he was a six round pick. Reunanen isn't even in the top 20 NYR prospects and most likely bottom pair if he can crack the line up. He's looking like a good AHL Dman and a guy you can call up due to an injury. AA has 2 more seasons before he is a UFA so it doesn't make sense to trade him at his lowest point when they don't have to.

Dont second guess yourself, you are probably right on this one. Gropp, Day, and Ronning are names you see in these trades from time to time even though they cant stick in the AHL lineup. I guess they could be moved if it were to even out the number of contracts but they have no value.

You’d have to be high not to take this... as of fight now you’d prob get a second for him and that’s it

How is this perfect? A probably not, a bust, three coach killing/defensive liability/one trick ponies and a spare d makes next years teams look very soft and fluffy!

Just a heads up regarding Wall... Looking up Wall in the reserve list on cap friendly, it states the Rangers have until August 15, 2020 to sign Wall to a contract. So he's not a free agent until after this upcoming August 15th.

Yes but that signing date doesn't take into in to account the NCAA loophole he can sign where he wants.

And that's why he probably won't get this season and there is no need to trade him since he has 2 years left as a RFA. If Wall wants to play in Detroit he can sign with them after the college season ends. Reunanen is an AHL player at best. So why would trade AA a player that doesn't have to sign in Detroit if he doesn't and a player that most likely won't make it out of the AHL. That second round pick is the only and it's will be at the end of the 2nd round so it really isn't that good to begin with. After reading through the comments I'm not the only who feels that way Buffalo and Edmonton fans put out a few proposals a week that are far better than this every week. Just so you know I don't do drugs and I don't appreciate the insinuation.

How come Adam Fox couldn't sign anywhere he wanted? NYR had to trade two 2nd round picks for him.

Because he only played 3 years and had 1 year of eligibility when he left and signed with Carolina.

Wall is in his 4th season @ Umass-Lowell and Adam Fox played 3 seasons at Harvard and had 1 year left when he signed with NYR.

No where in your sources does it state anything about 4th season and 3rd season regarding free agency. Your sources just list both players stats. If what your stating was actually correct, the Rangers would have Sherly waited another 2-3 months during the offseason to sign Fox as a UFA instead of trading two 2nd round picks for him.

Quoting your source...

"What if I was not signed by an NHL team?

A player not signed by his NHL team within two years of being drafted can re-enter the draft, as long as he is 20 years old or younger at the time of the subsequent draft. Players over 20 become unrestricted free agents.

NCAA players are an exception. In most instances, an NCAA student-athlete or someone who becomes an NCAA student-athlete in the sport of men's ice hockey prior to June 1, after being drafted in the NHL Draft, will have his contract rights retained by his drafting club until August 15 following the graduation of his college class as long as he remains in school. Even if that drafted student-athlete were to leave school before his class graduates, his drafting club would hold rights to sign him until June 1 of the year four years after he was drafted."

Thus your source backs myself and CAP FRIENDLY up and Wall is not a UFA until August 15, 2020!

Wall's 4th year of college commences August 15, 2020. Which is what's listed on Cap Friendly's NYR's reserve list page.
