For all Gm in nhl he is still a top 5 goalie. There no team that would like to have a guy like price in their goal. The facts that Montreal defense is terrible reflect a lot on is stats. He puts good number when the team play the good way. The facts that montreaL his giving around 15 chance a game in the red zone have a direct affect on is game and on is stats.

Any GM trading for Price and spendging significant assets is stupid and doesn't understand aging. The guy was the best goalie of the last decade. But he has been a below average goalie 2 of the last 3 years, and those are his first three years in his 30s. Everyone ages.

That's a fat no from Colorado. Byram is untouchable. Grubauer has been very good for them and provides great value at that contract. All that on top of a first round pick for an aging goalie on a long and expensive contract that nobody really knows what to expect out of moving forward.

Patrick roy, martin brodeur pekka rinne curtis joseph, ed belfour , roberto luongo , marc andre fleury, jacques plante, tomas vokoun, and a lot more have played in their late thirtys and still had the same success. The age here have nothing to do with the fact that this defensive is terrible and Marc Bergevin didnt get help at all last 2 season. Last year he was the best goalie from late November to the end of the season. He finished 7 th for the vezina last year.

His stats, traditional and fancy say other wise. Hes been bad this year, .902 and a 3.00 gaa is near the bottom of the league for starters
And 10.5m for a 32 year old goalie until the are 40 years old is a pretty bad contract .

Lundqvist and Fleury are good still but pretty much all the guys who are still playing late in their 30's they are shadows of their former selves.

looking at his last 6-7 starts, there are are a lot of sub .900 performances. I wouldnt say that he is playing bette of late, he might have a couple decent starts int here but that doesnt look like anyone who is putting together better night in and night out performances

there is a reason why he is at the bottom of the league statistically

I love how Avs fans always say how bad Price is and that they don't need a goalie. I'm not saying Price's contract will age well I'm I'll be the first to say paying a goalie 10.5 mil a year isn't where you should start when trying to win the cup, but imo I believe if he was traded it would be Roy 2.0 and Colorado would go on and win the cup this year and maybe once.over the next couple after. So avs fans, is Byram and a first not worth a cup?

Grubauer is the better goalie this season, so what magical cup are the avs winning with Price who is a downgrade in net right now. And with that contract Avs would have to take away from their actual roster, downgrading positional players. So again its laughable at how Habs fans think Price can win teams a cup but he cant even keep his own team relevant to fight for a playoff spot

and let me guess...if price was on the Avs with their d core he would have better stats...so price himself isnt good, he needs a better team to cover up his warts now bc he is decliining. That usually happens when players start to hit on the wrong side of 30

First its 38 not 40 that will end is contract. Secondly goalie have shown true the year that age wasn’t a factor. Martin brodeur, patrick roy, roberto luongo, marc André fleury, curtis joseph, jacques plante (who won the vezina at 39 in a way thougher era) pekka rinne thomas vokoun who barely had a career before turning 30 dwayne roloson. A mean age have a biggest impact on player who play a grinding physical game. Backes, neely, lucic, prust, ladd, clarkson. There the players that have seen their career taken a huge drop. Price doesn’t have a good year at all but last year he was the best goalie for a majority of the season exception wise of is first 15 game. He was mainly in first place in almost every other category after that. The year before he was injured for the most par of the season and canadien where really bad. This year the team is bad to but price have not been good. But saying that is play have decrease due to aging is not related to any facts or documentation.

Have you ever paid attention to sports? Guys get traded all the time and what do you know , they are awesome again! You can't always just look at only the numbers. There are so many other variables that don't get included in debates. Yes Price hasn't played well, but no one in this world would take Grubauer over Price unless they throw the contract into the debate. I'd be shocked if Price didn't morph back into the nest goalie in the world once traded. Being traded wakes almost every player up.

do you understand players get old and they decline, aging curves are a thing, and there is a thing called the Cap. Age is also a major factor...add in statically who has been the better goalie....its not even close.

Would you take goalie 10.5m for the 32 year goalie that you have to purge roster players out to fit or would you like the cost controlled goalie who is playing at a higher level for a 1/3 of the cap space.

This is a case of Price is my favourite player on my favourite team so how dare you not want him, he was awesome 5 years ago! Dont want him, hes been bad more than good and has a terrible contract. Those are just facts

So you didn't read my post at all? Lol. Proce isn't my favourite player btw, and I'll be the first to say trade him. I'm just tired of Avs fans ****ting on him all the time when they have no clue. Their argument is 10.5 million and he sucks lol. Which I also said in my post take away the salary number and no one in their world would take Grubauer over him. Like I said, imo Price traded and ultra motivated after the trade would make them the best team in the league over the next couple years. Good luck winning the cup with Grubauer. If not Price you still need to upgrade that. Especially now before Makar has to sign and you can no longer afford a decent goalie lol

He just makes too much for his ability level to warrant Colorado moving a 1st and the best dman in last year's draft.

Stop with that bullshat aging argument. That is not a documented facts for goaltender. Its a commun thing for players who are really physical. For a lots of other players the decline start in their late 30’s like joe thornton, duncan keith, martin brodeur. Jacques plante won the vezina at 39 in a thougher era. Tim thomas won is at 36, dominik hasek have won 5 of is 6 vezina after 30. Brodeur have won is last one at 35.
