You're so bias ! We can't receive Dale Weise since we ALREADY got Des Louises !
You could also argue that Bergevin CLEARLY said his guy was Morgan Reilly with the 3rd pick .
We can maybe fired him as GM , but he is ahead of Timmins , at least on that one !

Subban fell off so hard. im so shocked, and weber hasn't lost a beat. Still though, if Weber actually plays until the end of his contract, that'll be a very expensive bottom pairing D. most likely he'll be placed on LTIR at the end of the deal though. Galchenyuk's stock has fallen hard. During the 2018 offseason pens were interested in acquiring Domi in a: Sheary+ for Domi deal or a Kessel for Domi+ Deal. man id love to swap Galchenyuk for Domi right now. I figured on a contract year he'd be a lot better. Bowman got ROBBED with the Danault and 2nd (Romanov) trade for Weise and Fleischmann. Patches struggled his first year on Vegas but looks a lot better now. I think Vegas can live with that one.

Drafts are funny. Yes they could have taken Reilly, but during the draft Galchenyuk was clearly favourite to go third OA and most and if not all havs fans agreed with the pick. It was a bad draft..they could of had Yakupov of they had the first pick lol

Last year I was totally on board with somehow getting Weber out of town for anything because of that contract. But I'm starting to sway. The guy never had foot speed, so getting slower I don't think will change him. I also don't see his shot or his toughness or his leadership going away anytime soon. Also his contract although he might get worse with age, the actual cap number in 5 years might look pretty good relative to the salary cap. But no one really knows lol

Murray was also the consensus top Dman of the draft, not Reilly. But yeah rough draft overall

MB clearly said nothing coming in to replace a coach who was disgraced for saying to much
he was questioning everything and chose not to follow the plan of such a man who's gone on to turn CHI development 2013-2018 into a joke until demoted to a scout quietly so no one would notice the damage he left in his wake from 2008-2018 between the 2 teams

He came in to Pierre Gauthiers staff telling him Canadian Junior All Star from Quebec in Mikhail Gregerenko was MTL's guy and PG was very vocal about wanting him .

Chucky didnt appear on anyones radar until MB was hired 3 weeks before the NHL Draft and upon not liking what his head of our Draft Dept said he plucked Timmons from obscurity and brought him to the big seat at the draft at his side . Timmons calls Chucky his first Draft Pick he got to choose because it was a defining moment that changed the course of his career for the soon to be 20 year man in the habs organization .

He may be biased but atleast he learned about the subject in which he spoke
you just started a rumor based on nothing as Gregerenko was widely seen as the former GM's go to guy
it wasnt until MB came into play we changed our philosophy choosing the lower ranked Galchenyuk in a situation similar to CBJ choosing Dubois who was not ranked top 5 overall even an hour before the draft .

If Weber retires before his contract ends tho Montreal penalty isnt that large I feel so bad for Nashville if he does.

Yes that is true due to cap recapture. It’s too far out to predict how that saga will end

He was actually a contender for 1st overall, but his knee injury made him drop.

You can never tell, cause you can't change history, but if a player (let's say Reilly), been drafted by Montreal would he have been a good player with Montreal? I look at all the many of the Leafs draftees from years ago, and they seemed to be have picked the wrong players. But maybe it wasn't the player fault, the team stunted his growth so much he never reached his potential.

    I did say consensus no?

and the quote you're referencing means with what Bergevin had to pick at 3rd overall. Murray was gone at 2nd overall. could of been a completely different story if Murray was still available at #3.
