How to get Kreider

Created by: JBR409
Team: 2019-20 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 5, 2020
Published: Jan. 5, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
He isn’t the best option, but here’s how to him get without trading with the Rangers:

Rangers Trade F Chris Kreider (with 50% salary retained) to the Flames for F Adam Ruzicka and a 2021 3rd Round Pick.

Then the Flanes trade Kreider to the Islanders for F Josh Ho Sang and a 2021 Conditional 2nd Round Pick. The condition is that if Ho Sang plays in the NHL more than half of the remainder of the 19-20 season (not including Playoffs) than the pick becomes a 2021 3rd Round Pick.

This is about as far fetched of a cockamamie scheme I have seen in here.

At the draft.... little bit different when every GM is in one place.

    What the nani? Couple things:

    1. Why would rangers trade Kreider for a 3rd and a B prospect at 50%

    2. Why would flames trade (after clearing cap to make a playoff deadline pickup trade him for a 2nd and a B prospect

the rangers got a 1st and a nhl player for hayes. they didn't have to retain any salary. if the rangers have to retain half of kreider, whos on a team friendly deal, it'll cost more. i understand you might not want to pay it but someone will.

It would be much simpler to just get him directly from the Rangers for Dobson and a first.
And yes I am a Ranger fan and understand that simpler may not seem like better.
If the two teams weren't rivals there could probably be a match here. Toffoli might be a good option.
