That's the rumor. The Shaw has saved his money and doesn't want to risk more head injuries. Can't say I blame him to be honest.

I've heard this as well, but where did that rumor originate from?

I'm still not convinced that Seabrook will be able to come back and play pro hockey after having surgery on both his hips.

It'll come down to phyiscals. Unfortunately for the Hawks, he has to fail those to be cleared for the LTIR. Lupul had to go through one every year when he was on Robidas island.

If Seabrook wants to fail the physical he'll fail it, 2 hip surgery is pretty hard to come back from especially at 34 years old - he'll be in that Kesler category where is never a for sure LTIR but likely is

Its certainly unfortunate for him but pretty great for the Hawks cap space.

Send him back to MTL
Domi's been off without him
we'll play him in more skill situations again like last year and protect him .

we'll offer you Paul Byron straight up
Byron's been injured 3 times since 2018 but not a re-accurring injury like Shaw.(one time he straight up just got knocked out and was kept off for protocol)

Both players are banged up but still could contribute.

Here's the hard part about this. Marian Hossa. Hossa could pass his physical today if he wanted to. I'm being 100% honest too. His skin condition (which is treatable, but the medicine I guess over a long period is bad for people) flares up when he sweats...I mean if that's the bar. Shaw could say light is sensitive to him when he wakes up in the morning. Yeah, me too and I haven't had 1 concussion in my life...that was diagnosed anyway. Seabs too. 2 surgeries later and he doesn't feel like he's in hockey shape. Certain body parts hurt (maybe just because he's played 1,237 games in his career)...he'll be declared unfit.
