I highly doubt engvall gets that much. Dermott May get a bit more and the backup certainly deserves a raise.

Im guessing Mikheyev injury will cut him down to another "tryout", so 1 x 1,7M with Engvall jumping same bandwagon....lets see how Dubarelli will pull out this one......additional $$ for Offence is heavily limiting any maneuver money to adress the D and their current stats ( you know which ones those are, pointed them out many times already)

This team is short one top pair rhd. Two way guy who can skate with a decent defensive game.

Doesn’t have to be a top dollar big name guy.

Should have lots of competition for that backup spot. Not too worried there. Looks like they will be bringing in the kid from the khl. Will be interesting.

I have a feeling either one of Engvall, Mikheyev, Timashov or Korshkov will tell Dubas, no thank you to your low ball offer and go back to playing overseas. Mikheyev most likely, since he's 25 already, a 2 year deal gets him to UFA which the Leafs would avoid and an 1 year deal will be too low for him to choose it over KHL money.

Ya, I totally left the backup spot open due to having NO IDEA what to do there. If Hutch finishes the season strong I'm guessing he'd get resigned for 1 year. If not, it's an open door policy with any mail-order available goalie. Kaskisuo is not the answer and Woll is clearly not ready yet.

One thing I wasn't sure about is Muzzin's contract value. He's our best defender, but that's not saying too much. He's been really good and he's obviously important but he's already 30 and might slow down sooner rather than later. It was kind of a shot in the dark for value/term.
