I could see a late first plus Bellows. Don't think you'd need or want to include Wilde in there

I personally don't think he's worth that haul. Maybe a 2nd + a B level prospect, or just a late first. The biggest concern for me is that he's only scored more than 40 points once, and that was back in 2015-16. He's on pace for just under 60 points this season. I don't think that's really worth a 1st and a prospect, unless it's like a C level prospect.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if Ottawa could get a 1st + a prospect for him from a desperate fringe playoff team looking to get to the next level. They might be able to get a deal done with an extension at that price.

I’d b very hesitant to give a first in this draft, it’s gonna be a great one. Also, I’d rather keep Wilde as he could be a significant piece in a bigger trade. I’d rather unload Boychuk at a later time and just to Bellows a 2021 2nd and a 2020 3rd for Pageau

People are underrating Bellows as always. He's about to be a crazy NHL player, probably just as good as Pageau and possibly FAR better offensively. Trading another VERY solid defenseman in Wilde AND Bellows AND a first for Pageau and getting rid of one of our solid top 4 defenseman???? How is this even a discussion?

No, this is but a horrible trade for NYI. They shouldn't even consider it. A late 1st is close to reasonable, adding anything else to that is overpaying.

For you every Isles prospect will ended up being top6 or top4 players, your opinion is useless. But it’s all good, every fan base have guys like you smile

The value of a 1st round pick this year is a lot higher than in years past. This might be the deepest draft in 10 years.
And next years draft isn't really shaping up to being anywhere near as good.
To put it in comparison I think players like Hughes and Kaapo would have been taken no higher than 4th if they were in this years draft.
And the talent isn't just at the top of the 1st round. It's all the way down.
Guys in the 2nd round this year would have been drafted 1st round last.
So I don't think you are going to see the kind of returns people are expecting because I don't think a lot of GMs want to part with that 1st, and if they do, they better be getting something really good back with out much bs added.

But isn't that the problem. Surely Boychuk's M NTC excludes a trade to Ottawa.

Its not just Sens fans.

1st in the 25-31range and a B/C prospect, or 2 seconds and a B.

Look at his performance in past playoff season with Ottawa, the guy is a wrecking ball for success. Put him with the talent you guys have in Long Island it would be something special

Yeah of course its a lopsided trade in the long run, most deadline rentals are. But if the Isles are truly one good middles 6 center away from the cup, you make this trade every day. You have a solid young core otherwise that can be filled around by FAs. If you believe the isles are true contenders then this trade is shaped up to be
Pageau + Stanley Cup for 1st + Bellows
NHL GMs need to stop being afraid to go for it and put all the chips in if they truly feel they can win the cup, which I think Trotz wholeheartedly believes the Isles can

Bellows is playing like crazy right now with 13 goals in the past 15 games (I think that's the stat, something like that) and Wilde is just blatantly going to eventually be an NHL defenseman. Prospects like Vande Sompel, Dal Colle and Ho-Sang didn't and wont work out and I'll be the first to admit that. Guys like Wahlstrom and Dobson are also going to be top 4 guys and anybody in the NHL did, and will continue to tell you that. But guys like Bobo Carpenter, Kyle Burroghs and Linus Soderstrom are some of the prospects that I expected to be better than they were/are. I don't think every Islander prospect is going to be good, it's just that we have a lot of VERY good prospects. I apologize that a guy like you can't see that.

I'd take a pick that's anywhere between late first to mid second, or a decent prospect, whatever the best offer of that is.

Pageau is a good role player, not a guy you dish out a bunch of picks and prospects for. He's being a bit overhyped.
