Sorokin - Read Description

Created by: TheNewAge
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 6, 2020
Published: Jan. 6, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Seems like Lou is listening offers on Sorokin, what do you guys want for him? I see his upside, (one of, if not the best goalie prospect) but theres always a risk of him not working out. This intrigues me bc Freddys up in two years, and if he’s not resigned soon, you gotta start wondering where Dubas may go.

Four Western Conference teams are interested- I wonder which ones.

They've got Ian Scott and Joseph Woll in the system. Not exactly sure how long until they are ready to go, but they are good prospects nonetheless.

They are alright but both have a pretty low ceiling

I want Kapanen and a 1st, possibly more. It’s tough to gauge his value

I like Woll but I’m not too sure about Ian Scott. He just had hip surgery ( I believe) and its a struggle to come back from that. I feel like he’s going to end up like Sparks- too good for the AHL, not quite there for the NHL.

Yeah, see I wouldnt do that because of the amount of risk involved. I think the best play for Lou is to get him to North America (somehow) and see him play.

Yeah, I think that would be the best for everyone. Tell him to sign and trade him once we can showcase you in North America maybe? I doubt it works like that though

You seem to be confusing Lou with Snow?

Nope, I got this from Incarcerated Bob who is definitely reputable.

I love how people have already decided how good Woll and Scott are going to be. Give me a break. They're 20 & 21 years old. They have A LOT of development and improvement to do. Have some patience, check back in on them in 3 years. To say now that their ceiling is a top AHL goalie or an NHL backup is ridiculous. When Freddy was 20 he was playing in Denmark and nobody was projecting him to be an NHL starting goalie.
