Nolan Foote was selected 2 picks after him,...the steal of the steal? Fagemo and Höglander were selected in the 2nd round...steals on top of steals? Just way to early to tell

People look good at WJC and never result to anything sometimes, and kids have terrible WJC and its doesnt matter and become studs.

Wjc and he’s absolutely dominating OHL. Capitals also draft Protas in the 3rd. That kid also looks pretty awesome

its not disrespect to him, its just a general statement, you cant make those statements yet, its a few months of actual hockey since they were drafted.
Way to early to start declaring the steal of the draft.....before the WJC, Caulfield was the guy people were playing hindsight with....has a poor WJC, people back tracking on that.

Let guys do their things and make the NHL first before we declare winners and losers

Oh Ili completely agree I was just saying he’s playing better in juniors also.

oh I know, hes been solid, looks like a real player. 2 picks later lightning selected foote and hes having an equally impressive junior year and was a force at the Juniors. There is some real value in those late picks from the looks of it thats why its way to early to start this that type of debate

I mean Habs fans a few weeks ago had can Caulfield be a generational scoring talent like Ovechkin type claims? Finally plays against his age group at the hardest comp he has every faced, and nothing.
Gotta let the kids do their thing

McMichael is certainly a very good value selection late in the first. I think his absolute ceiling is probably a tier below Kuznetsov, but I don't know what his floor would be at this point. If his ceiling is bona-fide 2C, and his floor is competent 3C, it's still a good pick. If he develops to the point of being the 1C of the future for the Caps, then yes, it could be the steal of the draft.
