This looks terrible for the Canes. Suziki is a great prospect, Kaut has struggled in the AHL. Zadorov helps the defence and can be considered slightly more valuable then Gardiner though I still feel like you are not getting a fair return.

kaut has been injured for the majority of the year and since healthy is starting to produce again, gotta look at the context of his numbers first. Plus he is know for his pro level 2 way game, thats what the biggest part of his game is. On paper it doesn't look solid but need to know his context of what's going on for him this year

Cant judge prospects by just pulling up their hockeydb page,

So you are happy to trade one of your best prospects for a player who is injured and trying to adjust to North America?

well hes not one of the Avs best prospects.

Byram, Timmins, Newhook, Bowers, Annunen, and maybe even Kovalenko are probably ahead of him on the org depth rankings. Its not the best stat line coming over to NA, but its not a disaster or anything like that. Like I said, since coming back from injuries and getting his feet under him again, his numbers have been quite encouraging especially since he always good defensively.

I wouldnt trade him yet, There is still a player there just will take longer for him. His ELC can slide again this year, so there is no rush on him

I meant that Suzuki is one of the best prospects for Canes, yes the Avs are well stocked. I feel as though the Avs win this trade.

oh I wasn't saying I wouldn't want Suzuki over Kaut, yeah I would love to do that swap if I could, dont see why Canes would.
Just more about Kaut struggling really wasn't that fair of a comment

Was more so a comparison to Suzuki at this stage, Kaut is still adjusting.

This is more of a win for canes then avs. It's a no deal, why would the avs take on Gardner and his terrible contract and trade the one guy in the league who can stop macdavid. This isn't gonna fly for avs

So if arguments are made against this trade from both sides isn't it a good trade?

Don't disagree, just from avs point of view they need zadadov for the playoffs and don't need to trade NHL established players for prospects Is all. They have Girard, Byram and makar for offense so Gardner is not needed
