Sharks are already pretty low in the Standings. And while their Goaltending issues are obvious, their Scoring issues are just as worrisome. Bottom 7 in the NHL in both Goals Scored and Power Play percentage. Problems all over. Hank won't waive his NTC to join a sinking ship.

I guess the secret recipe for a kickstarting a rebuild is to either have Matt Duchene or Erik Karlsson on your team

Apparently, Hank didn't want to leave the Blueshirts even though he wants to win a Cup and the Rangers openly announced the rebuild

If a Contender came along, maybe he mulls it over. Probably not.

He likely won't win a Cup as a Ranger, but at least he gets to stay with one organization his whole career. Especially Original Six. Seems important enough to him.

You're bang on. I've been saying this since last year. We're not splitting future duo for Hanks curtain call and emotional propositioning for a past retirement re-sign!!! Just to sell low on a 1a/b, pre prime, well trained, possible star goalie. For what a 2nd rounder. Makes zero sense. Most obvious destination for Hank is with EK n SJS, until the wheels fell off. Also COL if Francouz faltered, yet he seems to fit with Grubauer. Maybe Hank rides the pine till his ultimate buyout, considering we need his half of cap next year. Hopefully he smells the roses and accepts other destinations ie CAR CGY ??? Your offer would certainly get it done.
