Idk if I would say the Saad trade is necessarily an overpayment, but its not a trade Nashville makes if they aren't contending, which at the moment they are definitely not

In their current situation they are trying to spark something to get them into the playoffs. Sending an expiring contract who has been a bust so far, an AHL defense men with a buried contract and a second for a guy who could play in their top 6 and add scoring for this year and next. How is that not a move a team who wants to make the playoffs makes.

I do not think they can get this trade through without the first. Tolvanen is a big name but he has proven nothing at the AHL level. Basically the next Alex Nylander.
