I'd do something including Meier but certainly not Jones and Burns!

Considering the difference between Burns and Petry offensively (what Burns should be bringing to a team trading for him) this season is minimal, and that Jones is in no way an upgrade in net, it should be obvious who adds. The question should be how much do the Sharks add.

Horrible for MTL
Price is overpaid, everybody knows that, but he’s still very good and MTL doesn’t need cap space for the next 4-5 years. Bergevin will figure it all out with Gallagher Danault Domi Mete Lehkonen contracts

I'm just noticing that Price and Burns could use changes of scenery and trying to figure out how to balance. Take out Petry and put in Alzner?

Price is average, Burns is average, Petry is decent, Jones is below average but the difference between Petry and Jones can make up for the difference in Burns and Price's contracts, SJS probably adds slightly, but I think they'll be strongly opposed to getting a worse contract than Burns'

Interesting. Great analysis. I kinda figure since Jones is having his worst year ever, in the year they've traded their 1st pick, they'd be motivated to shake things up. But I'm not sure what they'd consider throwing in. In a previous comment and in my next post I moved down from Petry to Alzner. Alzner's not as good as Petry, but he belongs in the NHL, and the Sharks could use a defensive defenseman.
