That Det trade would work if we have a top 3 pick. We might have to add a second as well. The Price trade isnt happening unfortunately

Lol Price isnt one of the worst goalies... He is still a number one playing for a bad team. He is just not playing like a 10,5m goalie right now. Stop saying **** about other teams player if you dont know ****

His overall performance equals out to being basically an average goalie... Grubauer>Price

If it was 2013-2017 Carey Price? Yes
If it were talking about current Carey Price? NO.
Would you be willing to get a Erik Karlsson since the Habs really need helps on the blueline?
Let's say Cole Caufield, Martin Jones, Alexander Romanov for Erik Karlsson?

I think the col trade could be possible if MTL retrains like 40 to 50% of the salary. If not it could never ever happen

At the moment Grubauer is better than Price, both statistically and contractually.

Actually, when looking at the contracts, Price's is as bad as it gets.

Bergevin is basically paying for what he has previously done which was a horrible decision. Aside from that, based on what I saw, the defence shouldn't be the excuse of Price's current performance. If that were the case, then Andrei Markov and PK Subban are the "real" 2015 Hart trophy winner.

Current Price is having strugle because of the team he has in front, its hard to compete an steal wins night after night with a team full of AHL players
If you trade for Karlsson, SJ will be asking for active players wich mtl are not open to trade if they still want to compete for playoffs

If it's solely on the team in front of him why did Gibson put up fantastic numbers last year with a probably worse team in front of him, and his hdSV% GSAA, and GSAx (all which take out the team on front of him much more than SV%) are all about average... (Gibson's were elite last year)

He has negative trade value with that contract

Out of the goalies over the last 2 years with over 2000 minutes TOI (52 goalies)

Price ranks 22nd in SV% (0.9115) - Grub is 15th at (0.9134)

now obviously there's a huge team element there so if you take a look at their performance against expectations, which attempts to isolate goalie results from their team's performance, the picture continues to show price hasnt been good. Expectations look at the difficulty of each save and compare it to the expected save % for that situation, and price has been below average.

Price ranks 33rd in dSV% at -0.25% below xSV% Grub is 24th at 0.08 above xSV% (dSV% = SV% - xSV% - aka difference between SV% and what they are expected to stop).

Price ranks 37th in Goals Saved Above Average at -7.46 GSAA while Grubauer is at 24th with a +1.51 GSAA

So Grub roughly meets expectations of a goalie in his situation, while price has been below average for a goalie in his situation.

That doesnt sound like the kind of goalie I want making $10.5MM, let alone having to give up a decent goalie making $7MM less, and 2 blue chip prospects, Kaut and Byram are 2 of the Avs most recent first round picks.

The habs would have to do Price++ to move that contract at full value for a goalie like grub.

they both stink, but at least Bob is 500k less and has a M-NTC during the final 2 years of his deal. Price has a straight up NMC the entire length of his contract. Thats just a ticking Time bomb
