How's about Gal for Bonino straight up? PIT has to be careful on the cap next year but NSH is pretty well screwed unless they make some major moves.

Might need a mid round pick to even out the retention but the concept is really good.

If they do 1 for 1 then there shouldn’t be retention involved....it’s not like PIT has to be weary on their cap spending now with Guentzel on LTIR.

i dont think pit needs to add a pick for rention. both will have the same cap hit for the rest of the year and both are ufas at the end of the year. why need anything else??

granlund is still very good definitely despite the down production, and he can play C.
14 points for Galchenyuk as well but he is a train wreck if you think he will play any sort of Defense and I dont think he has ever learned to play C.

Grandlund just is overall most useful since both offensively this year are a wash

Even though the retention makes it a cap wash for both sides doesn’t mean it should be one for one. The team who takes on the least amount of money usually ends up sending a pick to the other team. This happened when the penguins traded for Ian Cole back in 2015 where they sent an additional 7th round pick to STL for eating the extra cap money to make it a wash between Cole and Bortuzzo.

i think NSH is going to sell someone either before or at the deadline that isn't grandlund, so i don't think that the 850k will matter

That could be true....I think they’ll end up trying to cash in on some of their pending UFAs if possible.

I actually really want Smith...I feel like he’d be perfect on sid’s RW.

Yeah i think he'd be good. But i don't see him being more than a rental for us

They don’t need anything more than a rental at this point. All they need is to find a way to turn Galch into a player that’s a better fit.

It will prob be similar to what happened with Brassard but nothing too crazy...only way they’ll overpay a bit is to get someone with term.

Definitely but McCann has been worth every bit of that imo.

Granlund can play C, he just can't play it well. It's like saying Chucky can play C.
